Why we carry Ultrabronz Tanning Beds and Ultrabronz only!

Ultrabronz is the only true U.V.A. tanning bed on the market, which means a 28 day exfoliation cycle of your skin with no burning. When tanning on all other tanning beds, your top layer of skin becomes dry and brittle therefore exfoliates every 7 days because of the large amounts of U.V.B. or burning rays, 3-9.9% U.V.B. On a clear sunny day exposure is 1%- 3%, and 1% will burn the average person.

The Ultrabronz high pressure bed allows only one tenth of 1% of U.V. B. exposure, which is enough to stimulate the melasites that produce color in your skin, then the U.V.A. enhances that color. This small amount of U.V.B. exposure allows your skin to stay at its natural 28-day exfoliation cycle, so you keep your tan four times longer.

Protection Against Burning

Low and medium pressure U.V.A. tanning beds are all about marketing, not protection against burning. It is becoming more popular to advertise U.V.A. related to tanning beds because the tanning customers prefer not to burn. Although all tanning bulbs emit U.V.A. rays and U.V.B. rays known as white light. What other salon owners don’t tell you is there is no difference between a conventional U.V.B. bed and a low pressure or medium pressure U.V.A. tanning bed. With these beds you lay on acrylic, and they have bulbs on the top and bottom that look like long florescent bulbs. All of these beds emit 3- 9.9% U.V.B. rays, and 1% U.V.B. is enough to burn the average person. The light is white, pink or a pale blue, all of which emit the U.V.B. rays.

To protect you from burning, a device is needed to filter out the amount of U.V.B. a tanning bed gives off. This device is called a cobalt filter. The cobalt filter in the Ultrabronz tanning bed allows only one tenth of 1% of U.V.B. rays through. The light waves that come through the cobalt filter are between 320-380 nanometers, a light wave, U.V.A. that will not burn your skin. The light that emanates from the Ultrabronz tanning bed is purple, not white.
